How can we help?
Most questions are answered below. For anything else, or if something's broken, email us and include the phone you're using and, if it's about billing, the email or number you sign in with.

Getting started
Signing in without a password
Knotli signs you in with a one-time code sent to your email or phone. Enter the code on the next screen; there's nothing to remember. If the code doesn't arrive within a minute, check spam, then tap Resend. Codes expire after a short while, so request a fresh one if you've been waiting.
Pairing with your partner
After you sign in, Knotli shows a six-character code and a Share button. Send the link to your partner; when they open it on their phone, the code comes with them and you're paired as soon as they sign in. If they already installed the app another way, they can type the code on the pairing screen, or later under You → Settings → Pair with your partner.
One of us has an iPhone and the other has Android
Knotli is iPhone-only for now, so both of you need an iPhone to pair. The Android app is in testing and coming soon; when it ships, everything will sync between the two — questions, games, the board, photos, moods, and check-ins. Email us if you'd like a note when it's out.
Skipped pairing and now it's hard to find
Open the You tab, then Settings. Your code and the invite button are near the top until you're paired.
Knotli Pro and billing
One subscription for both of you
Pro is attached to the couple, not to a person. When one of you subscribes, the other is unlocked automatically the next time their app refreshes. You don't both need to buy it, and you shouldn't — if you both did, ask us and we'll help sort it out.
Restoring a purchase on a new phone
Sign in with the same email or phone number, then go to You → Settings → Restore purchases. This re-checks your App Store purchase and re-unlocks Pro. Make sure the phone is signed in to the same Apple ID that made the purchase.
Cancelling or changing the plan
Subscriptions are billed and managed by the App Store, so cancellation happens there. You → Settings → Manage subscription takes you to the right place, or go to Settings → your name → Subscriptions. Pro stays active until the end of the period you've paid for.
Refunds
Apple handles refunds for App Store purchases: go to reportaproblem.apple.com, sign in, and choose the Knotli charge. If you're stuck, email us with the order date and we'll point you to the fastest route.
Referral months
Every couple has a share code under You → Settings → Give a month, get a month. When another couple redeems it, both couples get 30 days of Pro added to whatever they already have. Each couple can redeem one code, once, and can't redeem its own.
Using Knotli
Notifications aren't arriving
Two switches matter: the phone's permission and Knotli's own settings. Check the phone first: Settings → Knotli → Notifications. Then, in the app, You → Settings → Notifications lets you choose which nudges you get and when the daily reminder fires.
The distance or time-zone card looks wrong
Distance uses each phone's location, shared only with your partner. If it's stale, make sure Knotli has location permission ("While using" is enough) and open the app once so it refreshes. Time zones come from each phone's clock settings.
Adding a widget
Long-press the Home Screen or Lock Screen, tap +, search Knotli, and choose a widget: distance, countdown, mood, photo, or the board. Widgets update on their own and open the matching screen when tapped.
Turning on the deeper decks and mature content
These are off by default and need both partners to opt in from You → Settings. Either of you can turn them off again at any time, and they're only available to adults; Knotli asks for a birthdate first.
A game seems stuck
Turn-based games wait for the other player, and the home screen tells you whose move it is. If a board doesn't update after your partner has played, pull down to refresh, or close and reopen the app. If it's still stuck, email us the game name and roughly when it happened.
Your account and data
Unpairing or blocking your partner
You → Settings → Unpair / block. Sharing stops immediately; each of you keeps your own account. Unpairing can't be undone from the other side — your partner would need a new invite from you to pair again.
Deleting your account
You → Settings → Delete account. This removes your profile, answers, photos, messages, and game history right away, and detaches your partner so they keep their account. Deleting Knotli does not cancel a store subscription; cancel that with Apple or Google first if you don't want it to renew. Full details on the account deletion page.
Who can see what I share
Only your paired partner. There are no public profiles or feeds. What we store, and why, is in the privacy policy.
Still stuck?
Write to support@knotliapp.com. Helpful to include: your iPhone model and iOS version, what you tapped, and what you expected to happen. For billing, add the email or number you sign in with. You can also reach us from inside the app under You → Settings → Contact support, which fills that in for you.
